Didn't meet expectations
The venue was too large and the crowd absent. Occurred on NFL Conference Championship Sunday, which could have contributed to the poor turnout. Ultimately the atmosphere impacted the flow of the show. Opening acts tried what they could to maintain the energy and delay the performance but that only made things worse. Opening acts were cool but not great. Crawford came out strong but was distracted and never seemed to find his way back to his script. Someone in the audience wanted some attention and he got it. Lavell instantly fried him and inserted this clown into what felt like every other joke (best part of the evening). Lavell never got back on track and reverted to jokes that were at least 2-3 years old (grocery store with mother, lost in the woods, "down by the lake", "real n's", etc). Not certain if that was his intent or he really didn't have new material.
